Position Description

10/5/2007 – These responsibilities could be fulfilled on an outside

contractor/consultant basis in the short term. All work would need to be done

onsite and during office hours.

Position: Web Design Specialist Date: 1/20/2007

Dept: Direct Response

POSITION PURPOSE:

Assure every Vita-Mix consumer web page, U.S. and International, is populated with relevant and sales driven images and copy; optimize navigation and sales effectiveness with the minimal amount of clicks.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Ensure that the repeat site visitor is met with dynamic and effective content and

design that is value added and current.

2. Ensure that the first time visitor is able to easily navigate the site and find needed

information within three clicks.

3. Work with web coordinator to enhance intranets and extranets that support

Global Household sales and marketing efforts.

4. Assure site is populated with market and sales driven images that enhance page

content including gifs, jpegs, pdf’s and Flash movies.

5. Work closely with Special Interest Coordinator and Loyalty Programs Coordinator

to design web pages that support their efforts.

6. Interface with internal web team and external vendors to coordinate web

updates.

7. Build appropriate banners, buttons and Flash movies for e-marketing activities.

8. Participate in regular audits with web developer, and outside vendors regarding

optimal page layout and navigation recommendations. Design and implement

site alterations based on audit findings.

9. Assure that the visitor’s experience on the website is commensurate with the

price point of our core product.

10. Review and proof created materials from inside departments, and outside

vendors; editing as needed.

11. Facilitate the purchase of appropriate graphic software packages as needed.

12. Work with outside legal counsel, and management to insure art and copy points

conform to legal, ethical, and logical prerequisites.

13. Alter existing documents in the appropriate software and generate

electronic/non-electronic files as needed.

14. Work with other departments to create an effective and compatible message and

image.

15. Assist with Axapta store implementation with particular emphasis on visual

consistency between the store and Vita-Mix’s web site.

Skill set requirements include: Java, Visual Studio, Adobe Suite, Macromedia Suite. .Net, SOAP, and PHP helpful.
